HELLO, and WELCOME to my web page
Background: I have studied art now for many years. Like all
artists I started with drawing. In high school I moved into woodworking
and learned the fundamentals. For smaller projects, (some taking months
to complete), a rendition of the last supper, music boxes, and wood panels all of which have or are engravings. I advanced with drawing and some experimentation with coloured stains and water colours. It was now time to move into other forms of art. After painting and staining with wood, I figured it was time for oils and canvas. My single motivation for ACTUALLY picking up a paint brush loaded with oil was the famed art teacher/ legend and loved BOB ROSS. Truly, I discovered Michelangelo and Da Vinci earlier, especially with Da
Vinci's inventions and wood experience. I also studied on my own other
great painters. When in my studies, I did not set out to learn every detail
about the painter or his/ her works. I wanted to see the
ARCHITECTURE of the works, colour, movement, teachings, and
techniques they used. I will never STOP learning about art or artists, and
some things MAY never be discovered unless professionally educated.
Still some techniques and skills have been lost due to centuries of time.
So the LACK of education professionally in my art is no reason to say,
"He is not a QUALIFIED artist." It just makes me an artist with
extended experience and untamed mercy when diving into work. also it
makes me "UNDISCOVERED", not unqualified. Also remember, over the years teachers have changed the teaching of art and methods used.
I have contemplated professional training, but many artists have advised me to stay with my own studies.
Quote, "I see nothing wrong with the paintings you have, stay with what you have and grow.", also I quote, "Further training will probably ruin your form and discourage you. I advise against it, take some drawing classes or something if you want to go to school.", IT meaning training.
I have studied in my own time, very extensivly on the materials used and how to keep my productions from aging quickly. Which would ruin the pleasure of owning my art. Have NO FEAR in the lack of schooling. Some of my work has lasted YEARS without the showing of time.
Some earlier works have shown ageing. But a little sun works wonders on the
yellowing effect. This is due to lack of light and the varnish used to protect the painting.
